Cashel On Track To Complete Big Comeback Win! By Dean Caporella

There would be few better stories than Cashel Guiness winning this year's Mega Morris Stakes. The last round of the Mega Morris is decided Tuesday evening and Cashel Guiness would guarantee herself a place in Saturday's rich final by finishing in the first three in her elimination round.

The tough little female has had a topsy turvy season and but for injury, may well have been challenging for leading win dog honors. Cashel Guiness missed a large chunk of the season after being injured in a race during April and when she was forced out, was up among the leading win dogs at that stage. The injury forced her off the scene at Ebro for nearly four months and since coming back, she has quickly discovered her winning ways and her win last Friday was her eleventh for the season. Starting from box seven, Cashel Guiness quickly raced to the lead on the first turn and ran her rivals ragged. The big surprise was the fact she was sent to the boxes a $21.40 chance which is amazing considering her race record and racing style. If she confirms her place in this weekend's final and then pulls off the big one there would be few better stories for the year considering what she's had to endure. It's also a credit to the patience and skill of TA's Crystal Zwart in nursing Cashel Guiness back to full fitness and a Mega Morris win would be just reward for that patience.

Meanwhile, tonight's elimination rounds will be crucial for several runners who finished out of the placings on Friday night. There are some big names who need to win or place Tuesday to force their way into the final so it might pay to scan the four rounds and look for those needing to earn points to stay in the hunt. One of those is Skip Tiger who is much better than his performance last Friday night indicated. Skip Tiger is usually a fast beginner and a reliable galloper who wouldn't surprise by making rapid improvement this evening. Don't let him get under your guard.
